I pledge, on my honor,
to uphold the Objects of Key Club International;
to build my home, school and community;
to serve my nation and God;
and to combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.
-Key Club pledge
What is key club?
Let me give you a hint; we don't make keys.
Established in 1925, Key Club is the oldest, largest, and most successful student-run community service program in the world. It is the high school branch of the Kiwanis International Family. Today, Key Club is international, located in almost 5,000 high school campuses in 30 different countries. The California-Nevada-Hawaii District alone has about 30,000 members across 52 schools.
TPHS is a part of Division 37 South, which in turn is a part of Region 2 of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District Key Club District. Schools like Canyon Crest Academy, Del Norte, Mt. Carmel, Rancho Bernardo, Poway, and Westview are also part of D37S.

Why key club?
What makes us so different than other clubs?
Founded June 22, 1989, the TPHS Key Club is one of the oldest, largest, and most active clubs at TP. Unlike most community service clubs, which only have a few events and rarely meet, Key Club holds meetings and events every week. Additionally, these events cover a wide variety of types of service; from marathons to soup kitchens to canyon clean-ups, we offer many opportunities to volunteer.
Key Club is also part of something bigger, as shown earlier. We not only offer the opportunity to help the local community, but a chance to get involved with something more if that's something you want to pursue.

How does key club work?
We offer you events, and you sign up!
Our club holds meetings in the lecture hall every week, and sends out emails detailing upcoming events. From there, you can choose which events you want to sign up for, and we'll take care of the logistics.

Dues?
Dues go to a few different parts - charity, processing, and district events.
Key Club does have dues. However, these dues are used for a few purposes. Part of the money goes toward our District's Charity Focus, a specific charity that Key Club pledges money toward for the year. Our fundraisers, like the bake sale and incREDiBULL party, also raise money for the Charity Focus. Part of the money goes toward processing members and creating IDs for you. Finally, some of the money goes toward funding our larger events, like our Regional Training Conference and D-CON.

So how do I join?
Just show up!
Literally. Just come to a meeting with a filled-out registration form and money for the dues, and sign up for events! We'll be glad to have you!
